Symptom Tracker app · Effective 30 July 2026

This policy explains how the PeriHelp symptom tracker app at app.perihelp.com.au collects, uses, stores and protects your personal and health information. It sits alongside — and where the app is concerned, takes precedence over — our general website privacy policy. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

PeriHelp is operated by Vino Adventures (ABN 68 654 472 867). Questions about this policy or your information? Email hello@perihelp.com.au.

What the app is

The tracker is an information and record-keeping tool. It is not a clinic, not a telehealth service, and not a diagnosis. It helps you record how you’re feeling over time and prepare a summary for your doctor. It does not replace medical advice. Health content is reviewed by Dr Kelly Needham.

What information we collect

Your account

  • your email address and a password (your password is stored only as a secure, salted hash — we can never see it);
  • your first name, if you choose to give one; and
  • a record of your consent — the version of this policy you agreed to and when.

What you log

The information you enter to track your health, which stays tied to your account:

  • the symptoms you record each day and how strong they were;
  • any free-text notes you add to a day; and
  • if you choose to record it, menstrual cycle information (whether you bled on a day, and roughly how heavily).

Symptom and cycle information is health information — a type of “sensitive information” under the Privacy Act. We collect it only with your consent, which you give by ticking a consent box just for your health information — separate from agreeing to this policy — when you create your account. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account (see “Your rights”).

Partner-share content you create

If you use “Help someone understand” to create a share link, we store the snapshot you choose to share (your selected symptom descriptions in your own words, the first names you enter, and your closing note), so the link can display it. This is covered in “Sharing with someone you choose” below. Menstrual/cycle detail is never included in a share.

Collected automatically

Like most apps, our hosting and database providers’ servers may log standard technical information (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the service secure and running. The app contains no advertising trackers, and we will never add any. We currently use no analytics at all. If we ever introduce analytics, it will be privacy-respecting, disclosed here first, and never used on any page showing health information.

Where your information is stored

Your account and everything you log are stored in our database, which is hosted in Sydney, Australia (Supabase, region ap-southeast-2). We chose an Australian region so your health information stays in Australia.

To run the app we also rely on a small number of trusted providers, and your information is handled by them only so they can provide their service to us:

  • Supabase — our database and sign-in provider. Stores your account and everything you log, in Sydney, Australia.
  • Vercel — hosts and delivers the app. Your information is stored at rest in Sydney, but the app itself is delivered by Vercel (a US company) over a global network, so your requests may pass through, and be processed on, servers outside Australia — including in the United States — in encrypted form. Vercel does not store your health information.

We do not sell your information and do not share it with advertisers.

How we use your information

  • to give you your account and let you log and see your own history;
  • to generate your pattern view and the summary you can take to your GP — this happens on your own device, from your own data;
  • to create and display any share links you choose to make; and
  • to keep the service secure and working.

We will not use your information for any unrelated purpose without your consent.

Sharing with someone you choose

The app lets you create a private link to share, in your own words, with a partner or someone close to you. This is one-way and entirely under your control:

  • a link shows only the snapshot you chose to share at the time you created it — not your live data, and never your menstrual/cycle information;
  • the person you share with gets a web page only — they never get access to your account, your login, or your logs, and receive no alerts;
  • each link expires automatically (currently after 30 days) and you can revoke it at any time from your Account screen, which stops it working immediately; and
  • links use a long, unguessable address so they can’t be found by chance.

Please only share a link with someone you trust, and be aware that once you send a link, the person who has it can view that snapshot until it expires or you revoke it.

How we protect your information

  • Only you can access your data. Database security rules mean your account can only ever read or write your own rows — no other user can see your information.
  • All connections use secure (HTTPS) encryption.
  • We keep health information out of web addresses, server logs and emails.
  • Passwords are stored only as secure hashes.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Your rights

From the app you can, at any time:

  • Export your data — download everything you’ve logged as a file (Account → Export my data);
  • Delete your account and all data — an immediate, permanent deletion of your account and every entry (Account → Delete my account); and
  • Change your password or your name.

You can also email hello@perihelp.com.au to access or correct your information. Deleting your account withdraws your consent and removes your health information from our active systems (backup copies are deleted shortly afterwards — see “How long we keep your information”).

Consent and changes to it

We record which version of this policy you consented to (this version is 2026-07-30). If we make a material change — for example, adding a new kind of information or a new way of sharing — we will ask you to consent again before that change applies to you.

How long we keep your information

We keep your account and logs for as long as you keep your account. If you delete your account, your data is removed from our active systems immediately. Copies may remain in our encrypted database backups for up to 7 days before they are permanently deleted.

If something goes wrong (data breaches)

We take our responsibilities around data breaches seriously. If we ever suspect your personal information has been involved in a data breach, we will investigate promptly and take steps to contain it. If the breach is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), as required under Australia’s Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Children

The app is intended for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first at hello@perihelp.com.au. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and significant changes will be made clear. If a change is material, we’ll ask for your consent again before it applies to you.

This tracker is for information and navigation only. It is not a medical diagnosis and does not replace advice from a qualified doctor. If your symptoms are severe, or you’re worried about your health, please see a doctor.

If you’re really struggling, or you ever feel unsafe, please call Lifeline on 13 11 14.
